Not Here But Not Quite Gone Either…

I’m here to apologize.

I’ve been absent. Very absent.

I think you deserve an explanation.

Life kicked into high gear around the time of the big move. We packed up all our worldly belongings onto a truck, got on a plane and flew across the country from Philadelphia to Los Angeles:

FROM:

Mr. Hot and Spicy and I quickly got settled in into a cozy little apartment in Seal Beach, just south of Long Beach. Since our new home is only blocks from the beach, we spent nearly every day this summer at the beach:

When I wasn’t bumming around on the sand, I was deep into an intense job search. I am so fortunate to be able to say that I have found an amazing position at an amazing school in South Central, Los Angeles. I love the position. I work with hardworking kids, hopeful parents and passionate teachers. I feel blessed every day.

Unfortunately, the position is intense and my hours have been long. For a long time now, I’ve telling myself that I would find the time to get back into the kitchen, to keep experimenting and keep posting. But, I have to acknowledge my limitations. For the time being, this blog will be on hiatus. I’ll keep the archives going and keep reading the awesome comments.

I hope that, by winter, I’ll be back here posting again and being part of the amazing community of bloggers. But, until then, keep it Spicy everyone!

Hey Lidia – You a teacher too? Look I know how tough it is – the workload and caring is enormous -I’ve been struggling with my sites since September as well. If you really can’t, well you can’t – however I know you can manage one post a fortnight to keep this great blog ticking over.

So, you and Mr H&S have to eat every day – fast easy healthy food that we all want to know about. Just snap what you cooked and post the recipe.

Kids are another source of endless fun – I swear it’s what makes teaching so worthwhile (to me anyway) – some of the things they say … so blog about what makes you laugh and slip the healthy packed lunch ideas in as well… or the muffins you made … You get the picture – I bet you’ve got some stuff lined up for the kids at Halloween – so blog about it!

Whatever you decide, good luck hon.

Thank you, Meggy! That is a great message of motivation. I wish I could share fast dinner ideas. Unfortunately, dinner these days is usually a Trader Joe’s frozen entree. A long day followed by an hour’s commute on the 405 saps my cooking energy.
But, I’ve got some ideas brewing. I’ll be back soon enough. In the meantime, I’ve had reading your website, Gadgets for the Kitchen. Love the gadgets you share! http://gadgetsforthekitchen.com/
